My Christmas Log

This year, to celebrate Christmas in my family, my mom asked me to prepare a cake. I wanted to make a cake without sugarpaste and with plenty of little treats on it.

It was a chocolate-hazelnuts cake with a Chocolate-Nutella italian meringue buttercream. I baked all the items you can see on the cake except candy canes and Ferrero Rocher chocolate.

Winter wedding cake with reindeer figurines

Winter Wedding Cake

Here is a cake that I found in my archives. Not the cake, but the pictures. I had done this cake for a winter wedding and as it is the season, I’m glad to introduce you to it now.

I like the bride and groom idea to make a very simple cake with icy winter colors: light blue and white. This sobriety gives more importance to the cake topper. Lost in the vast white snow, these two lovebirds will love forever 🙂 It’s very poetic, don’t you think ? More pictures below…

Flamingo Cakepops

I recently received an order from Jennifer for pink flamingo cakepops. She wants to offer them to a friend who loves flamingos. And I must say that she’s not the only one, these pink birds conquered my heart too 😉

I made her about 15 pink flamingo cakepops. And to have a little fun, I proposed to make one special flamingo: a flamingo who celebrates with a party hat, a little tutu and glitter.

Emily is a little girl who loves princess dresses and everything that sounds like princess. She celebrated her 4th birthday and as I am her aunt… she calls me tata cookie (cool eh?), I made her birthday cake on the theme of Princess Sofia.

A Healthy Way to Make Granola Bars

A Healthy Way to Make Granola Bars

I love doing these little “ice cream” granola bars. It’s like a healthy mini Magnum Ice Cream 🙂 If you like granola bars, like me, it’s time to try to make your own. By doing this, you can control all the ingredients to make something really healthy and to your tastes. The recipe below can quite be modified according to your desires and the season.

What goes into a granola bar ? We put rolled oats and all kind of nuts. Dried fruit can be added, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, etc… And then something that binds them all together.

As binder, I use honey. What is good with honey, is that it’s already sweet, so you don’t necessarily need to add sugar to this recipe. There are sugar free honey products out there but, they tend to lack the benefits as these product are not made from bees. Otherwise agave syrup is another viable alternative to replace honey.
