Advent Calendar
Hi little penguins! Today is December 1st and it is since the beginning of November that I have been thinking of making this Advent calendar. I would have liked to present it on my blog before December 1st but it’s always like that, we finished everything at the last minute. And as I finished it yesterday, I can only show it to you today.
I wanted to make a calendar that I can reuse in the next few years. Si it must be solid, pretty and practical. I had the idea to make a small village with: houses, a church, fir trees and some diamonds that would fall from the sky. They do not really fall from the sky but they are hanging on a fir decorative tree that I already had.
PS: I try to write in english but it isn’t my mother tongue. Sorry if you find some mistakes.
Okay, great idea but now I have to create all the elements. So I drew each of the houses, the fir trees and the diamonds on Illustrator. After having printed, cut and adjusted several times my vector drawings to get the result I was looking for, here are my ready to print templates that I put at your disposal:
DOWNLOAD TEMPLATES HERE (PDF) !
Once the templates are printed, follow the steps below:
- Tape the template on a card stock of the color of your choice, then cut the shapes using an exacto knife.
- For the windows, tape some tracing paper on the inside of the house.
- Glue all the parts together to form a house (except the bottom tabs that will be used to open your house to discover what is hidden in there).
- Here is a finished house. All you have to do now is to write a number on it and put some surprise inside.
